Round The Vines
SA OKT 31
Round the Vines begins and ends at Memorial Square in Martinborough, located in New Zealand’s South Wairarapa wine region. This is an annual 10 km and 21.1 km run or walk, with separate starts for walkers and runners, allowing participants to select a pace that suits them. The event also serves as a significant fundraiser for Martinborough School, described by organizers as New Zealand’s largest small-school fundraiser. The course leads from town onto rural roads and through Martinborough vineyards, including sections not usually accessible to the public. Four aid stations are positioned around the course, offering water and fruit. The atmosphere is more social than competitive; participants may wear activewear or costumes. Live music is provided along the route, and the finish is followed by a prize ceremony featuring food, local wines, awards, and additional entertainment.
Lochmara Half Marathon
SA NOV 7
The Lochmara Half Marathon begins with a boat trip from Picton to Anakiwa, the race's starting point. This small trail half marathon in New Zealand’s Marlborough Sounds takes place annually on the first weekend in November, with a limit of 200 participants. Runners complete a point-to-point course from Anakiwa to Lochmara Lodge. Walkers can opt for a half marathon walk that bypasses the initial 3 km loop to meet the time limit. The full half marathon has a 3 hours 30 minutes cut-off. The course incorporates sections of the Queen Charlotte Track, offering coastal water views and native bush scenery. The logistics contribute to its appeal: participants reach the start by boat, and their gear is transported separately to the finish at Lochmara Lodge. At the lodge, the event concludes with prize giving, post-race activities, swimming, and a gift for finishers from the organizers. A portion of the entry fee benefits individuals with Neuroendocrine cancers, and the winner receives a cash prize.
Lochmara Lodge Half Marathon
SA NOV 7
The Lochmara Lodge Half Marathon begins with a boat trip. Participants board a Beachcomber Catamaran in Picton, cruising for approximately one hour to Anakiwa before the race. This is a small event in the Marlborough Sounds, limited to 200 participants, covering about 22K on the Queen Charlotte Track with a 3 hour 30 minute cutoff. The race takes place on a Saturday in November, and participants may run or walk, welcoming all abilities. The start is a short walk from Anakiwa, the location of New Zealand's Outward Bound. The course winds through beech forests, alongside bays, with sounds of birds, featuring twists, turns, climbs, and descents towards Lochmara Bay. The finish is at Lochmara Lodge. Finishers receive a gift from the organizers, have the option to purchase a barbecue lunch, attend prize giving, and then take a return boat to Picton. Prizes include cash for the winner, category awards, spot prizes, and fun prizes. A portion of the entry fee supports New Zealanders affected by Neuroendocrine cancers.
Remutaka Rail Trail Run and Walk
SA NOV 7
The Remutaka Rail Trail Run and Walk begins at Kaitoke Kart Track, near Upper Hutt, and proceeds into the Remutaka Ranges via an old railway corridor. This off-road event offers 7km, 14km, and 21km distances for runners and walkers, commencing early in the morning. The course utilizes the historic Remutaka Rail Trail, with hard-packed gravel. It ascends gradually, avoiding steep, technical terrain. Participants will traverse tunnels, cross bridges, and pass through bush-lined valleys. The shorter distances are suitable for casual runners, walkers, and families, while the half marathon presents a more significant uphill challenge for trail runners and endurance walkers. Aid stations will offer water, and a coffee cart is typically available near the kart clubrooms.
Kāpiti Half Marathon Running Festival
SO NOV 8
The Kāpiti Half Marathon Running Festival starts and finishes at MacLean Park in Paraparaumu Beach, on New Zealand’s Kāpiti Coast, about 30 minutes from Wellington CBD. This run-and-walk festival includes a 21.1 km half marathon, 10 km, 5 km, and a 2 km kids’ run, suitable for half marathoners, families, walkers, and younger children. The main course is mostly flat and fast, with a mix of sealed road and hard-packed gravel. All courses accommodate buggies, walkers, and wheelchair athletes. The route follows the coast, passing river trails, tree-lined streets, lake loops, and the Waikanae Estuary boardwalk, with Kāpiti Island visible from parts of the area. The 5 km course stays on coastal and park trails, while longer distances use more of the mixed-surface route. Finishers receive a medal or can opt to have a tree planted in their honor. The event concludes with activities at MacLean Park, including local cafes, family gatherings, awards, and spot prizes.

Wellington Trainings-Notizen
