Currahee Challenge 5K/10K
SA OKT 3
The Currahee Challenge starts at the base of Currahee Mountain in Toccoa, Georgia, with a 5K run/walk and a 10K run on the Colonel Robert Sink Trail. The 10K is a hill run, so this is not a flat, casual road race, and the finish line stays open until late morning for runners and walkers coming off the mountain. The trail matters because it was a training site for the 501st, 506th, 511th, and 517th Parachute Infantry Regiments. The race is sponsored by the Currahee Military Museum, and its identity is tied closely to the mountain’s airborne training history, including the units later portrayed in Band of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan, and The Dirty Dozen.

SA OKT 10
Haunted 5K, 10K, 13.1M & 26.2M at Athens, GA (41)
SA OKT 10
The Haunted 5K, 10K, 13.1M & 26.2M in Athens, Georgia, offers four distances: 5K, 10K, half marathon, and marathon. The race begins at 8:00 AM. Packet pickup is available from 7:30 AM to 7:50 AM. Advance registration on RunSignup is required; no on-site registration is available. The 5K and 10K utilize a 3.11-mile out-and-back course, with 5K participants completing it once and 10K participants completing it twice. The half marathon and marathon follow a distinct 3.28-mile out-and-back route. Half marathoners repeat this route four times, and marathoners repeat it eight times. This structure emphasizes steady pacing over repeated sections. The course time limit is 6 hours.
Spooky Sprint- Greater Atlanta
SO OKT 18
Spooky Sprint Greater Atlanta is an annual Halloween-themed running event with a 5K, 10K, half marathon, 1-mile option, and a kids’ dash. It is built for families as much as regular runners, with youth pricing for the 5K and 10K and an untimed dash for children 10 and under. The race offers chip timing, live results, awards, free participant photos, and treats at the finish line. Registrants in the main distances receive a custom bib, designer shirt, and finisher medal, while kids’ dash entrants get a mini bib, youth shirt, and their own medal; children can also run the dash for free without the swag. A virtual option lets people run anywhere and still receive the race gear.
Halloween Trick or Trot Run 5K/10K/13.1 ATLANTA
SA OKT 31
The Halloween Trick or Trot Run is an annual Halloween race held in Decatur, Georgia, near Atlanta. Participants can select from a 1-mile fun run, 5K, 10K, or half marathon, accommodating families, casual runners, and those seeking a longer fall race. The race embraces the holiday theme rather than functioning as a typical road race. All finishers receive complimentary Halloween candy. The core concept is straightforward: go outdoors, invite a friend, establish a personal objective, and incorporate the miles into the Halloween festivities.

The course follows Atlanta Road out and back, with a turn near Cumberland Boulevard, before returning to the Community Center. Awards are presented to the top male and female finishers, top masters runners, and age-group winners in five-year categories. Elite Race Timing manages the results. Early Bird Turkey Trot 5K, 10K, 15K, & Half Marathon
SA NOV 21
The Early Bird Turkey Trot takes place on the Saturday before Thanksgiving in Kennesaw and Marietta, offering in-person 5K, 10K, 15K, and half marathon races. The same distances are available virtually, allowing participation remotely. This event is part of the Five Star NTP race series and serves as an early iteration of the organizer’s Thanksgiving Turkey Trot, providing an opportunity to run before the holiday. The race originated from a Five Star NTP custom of offering a complimentary 5K entry to returning runners: those who completed any of the organizer’s races between early December and mid-November qualify for one in-person Turkey Trot 5K entry. Participants not qualifying can still register for a modest fee. Shirts, hoodies, and finisher medals are available as optional purchases, not included automatically. The event relies on local charity and volunteer assistance, with a charity partner receiving donations and volunteers earning free future races for their morning's work.
Get Basted Turkey Trot 5K, 10K, 15K, Half
SO NOV 22
The Get Basted Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving-season race series offering 5K, 10K, 15K, and half marathon options, including virtual versions of each distance. This is the event's second year, and it is designed so runners can select any distance from a short holiday run to a half marathon without changing events. The route details are not specified, but the race format is straightforward: in-person and virtual runners can select from the same distance options. Basic entry remains inexpensive, with race-day pricing only slightly higher. Shirts, hoodies, and finisher medals are optional purchases. A distinctive feature is the give-back program: volunteers receive five free race entries, and runners who completed one of the organizer's qualifying races during the year can claim a free 5K spot in an in-person Turkey Trot. This tradition started as a way to thank participants who had raced with the group throughout the season.

The Five Star Thanksgiving Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving morning running event in Johns Creek, Georgia, offering 5K, 10K, 15K, and half marathon distances. It is a run-only event, and each distance includes a virtual option for those participating remotely. The series maintains an accessible entry price, with a slightly increased fee for race-day registration. Participants can purchase shirts, hoodies, and finisher medals individually rather than as part of a bundled package. A unique tradition offers free in-person Turkey Trot entry to runners who completed a Five Star race during the preceding year, a gesture of appreciation for consistent participation. All participants can compete for overall and age-group awards.
