Easterseals North Georgia - Trick or Treat Trot 5K AJC Peachtree Road Race Qualifier
SA OKT 3
The Trick or Treat Trot 5K is a morning 5K held in Peachtree Corners, Georgia. Check-in begins at 7:00 AM, with the race starting at 8:00 AM. This event benefits Easterseals North Georgia, providing health and development services for children with disabilities, their families, and the community. The race is a qualifier for the AJC Peachtree Road Race, though it is organized independently of the Atlanta Track Club. The event focuses on a straightforward 5K course, not a complex race structure. Participants, both runners and walkers, contribute to raising funds and awareness for young children with disabilities in Atlanta and North Georgia. Each participant receives a shirt. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as to winners in various age groups, from youth categories to senior grand masters.
The Lucky Dog Race for Recovery 5K
SA OKT 3
The Lucky Dog Walk for Recovery begins and ends at The Stone Summit in Kennesaw, Georgia, covering a 5K on the Noonday Creek trail. This October event serves as a community walk focused on addiction awareness, homelessness awareness, and support for individuals in recovery. Participants are encouraged to bring their canine companions, alongside human friends. The course follows a straightforward out-and-back path originating from The Stone Summit, concluding with music, food, and awards. The walk is named in honor of Lucky, a dog gifted to The Extension by a volunteer. Lucky resided at the men's campus, providing comfort to residents for years. Subsequently, the organization named its softball team The Lucky Dogs, and a costumed Lucky Dog mascot now attends softball games and other gatherings.
WINSHIP 5K
SA OKT 3
The Winship 5K is an annual 5K run/walk held at McDonough Field on the Emory University campus in Atlanta. It offers both in-person and virtual participation, allowing individuals to join on campus or remotely. The race benefits cancer research at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. Participants may register individually or as a team, with a suggested fundraising goal of $250 per person. Recent editions have generated over $1.3 million in a single year, bringing the total raised for Winship cancer research to more than $12.75 million.
The Pastry Road Race 2026
SA OKT 3
The Pastry Road Race is a flat road race held in downtown Buford, Georgia, starting at 8:00 a.m. in October. The event embraces its bakery theme, described as a "sweet" race to raise "dough," with participants receiving T-shirts. The morning features music, door prizes, and awards presented in five-year age groups ranging from 10 and under to 75 and up. While listed on Atlanta Track Club's Community Calendar, the race is organized independently, and inquiries should be directed to the event organizer.
Potter's House 5K: Whole Health Matters (Mind, Body, Soul)
SA OKT 3
Cobb County 5K benefiting Make a Wish Georgia
SA OKT 3
The Cobb County 5K begins at Marietta Square, raising funds for Make-A-Wish Georgia. Proceeds support granting wishes for children in Cobb County with critical illnesses. This 5-kilometer race offers timed and untimed options, alongside a donation-only Phantom Runner choice for those wishing to support the cause without participating in the run. The morning also features a 1K Fun Run for young children, providing a shorter race for families before the main 5K. Festivities commence early, with the 1K starting first, followed by the 5K from the square. The 5K course winds through Marietta streets, including Cherokee Street, Church Street, Freyer Drive, Pine Street, and Allgood Road. It then loops back downtown via Chicopee Drive and Church Street before returning to Cherokee Street. As a Peachtree Road Race qualifying event, runners seeking an official qualifying time have an incentive to start near the front. Teams of nine or more receive a reduced registration rate, and special pricing is available for teachers, students, and school groups. All finishers get a T-shirt, the winning T-shirt designer receives a plaque, and Wish Kids present medals to the winners.
Spooky Spirits 5K
SA OKT 3
The Spooky Spirits 5K is a Halloween-themed 5K race held in Suwanee, Georgia. It begins and ends at Suwanee Town Center Park. This is a timed race and a Peachtree Road Race qualifier, allowing participants to approach it as a serious 5K effort. The event also offers a more relaxed option that combines cocktails and costumes, with ticket choices for a continuous run or a course featuring stops for drinks. The spirits version features five stations along the race path, each offering a different cocktail sample and theme. Additionally, a 12-ounce cocktail is provided at the finish line. The event accommodates competitive runners, casual walkers, groups in costumes, and friends who enjoy cocktails. The race is organized by the same team responsible for the Beer Chaser 5K and Suwanee Wine Fest. Individual results and race videos will be accessible after the event.
Run for Their Lives 5k
SA OKT 3
Run for Their Lives 5K is a 5-kilometer run or walk at Peterson Park that raises money for SPCA Florida. The event's purpose is to fund care for animals needing second chances. Runners, walkers, volunteers, donors, and spectators all contribute. The funds and support from the race enable SPCA Florida to care for thousands of animals annually.
Currahee Challenge 5K/10K
SA OKT 3
The Currahee Challenge starts at the base of Currahee Mountain in Toccoa, Georgia, with a 5K run/walk and a 10K run on the Colonel Robert Sink Trail. The 10K is a hill run, so this is not a flat, casual road race, and the finish line stays open until late morning for runners and walkers coming off the mountain. The trail matters because it was a training site for the 501st, 506th, 511th, and 517th Parachute Infantry Regiments. The race is sponsored by the Currahee Military Museum, and its identity is tied closely to the mountain’s airborne training history, including the units later portrayed in Band of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan, and The Dirty Dozen.
Pink up the Pace 5K
SA OKT 3
Pink Up the Pace is an annual 5K walk/run held at Francis Field in St. Augustine, Florida. It begins at 8:00 a.m., with activities running from early morning until noon. The event supports breast cancer awareness, early detection, and testing access for residents of St. Augustine and surrounding areas. The route winds through the streets of Historic Downtown, offering a city-center course distinct from a park loop. Participants include walkers and runners, such as breast cancer survivors, children, teens, adults, and teams from community groups that take part in and sponsor the event.
NOA 5K Run to End Domestic Violence
SA OKT 3
The NOA 5K Run to End Domestic Violence is a fall 5 km run held at Rock Creek Park in Dawsonville, Georgia. The race begins at 445 Martin Road, offering local runners a short, direct course linked to a specific cause: raising funds for domestic violence support. The event also provides a virtual 5K option, allowing participation for those unable to travel to Dawsonville. Race merchandise includes a T-shirt. The format is straightforward: a community 5K in a north Georgia park, focused on fundraising rather than a large festival or elite competition.
Dash 4 Domestic Violence Awareness 5K
SA OKT 3
The Dash 4 Domestic Violence Awareness 5K is a community 5K run/walk held at Alexander Park in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Hosted by the Gwinnett County Solicitor's Office, this is the fourth annual event. It gathers runners, walkers, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters to focus on domestic violence awareness, with packet pick-up and registration beginning early. The route is a 5K within Alexander Park. The day offers more than just the race. Proceeds benefit Mosaic Georgia, Partnership Against Domestic Violence, and Ahimsa House, funding services like crisis intervention, emergency shelter, advocacy, counseling, survivor support, prevention education, healthy relationship programs, and assistance for survivors needing to relocate pets. A recent edition saw 170 registered runners and raised $12,080. Past events have featured DJ Mercy, Zumba, line dancing, and fitness sessions from local gyms.
