The Groß Glienicker 2-Seen-Lauf is a community running event held in late August in Groß Glienicke, near Potsdam. The start and finish are located at the Badewiese on Seepromenade, placing the race day by the water instead of a stadium. SportClub 2000 Groß Glienicke e.V. organizes the event, with assistance from the state capital Potsdam. The program caters to families and adult runners alike: children can participate in 200m and 400m Bambini races, older young runners have 800m, 1500m, and 5 km options, and adults can select from 5 km, 9.6 km, or a 5 km walk.
The 5 km route follows paved paths, while the 9.6 km race incorporates sections of unpaved forest paths, offering a more local trail-and-lakeside feel. Water stations are positioned at approximately 2.1 km, 4.8 km, and 7.5 km, with water, tea, and fruit available at the finish area. Coffee and cake are provided for a donation, contributing to the event's small-club atmosphere rather than a commercial one. Electronic timing is utilized, award ceremonies for each category occur shortly after their conclusion, every finisher gets a certificate, and the top three in each category are awarded medals.
