Ecocamiño is a 50 km marcha-carrera on the French Way of Saint James in Galicia, held annually in late October. The event begins in the Camino corridor near Melide and concludes at Monte do Gozo, the hill just outside Santiago de Compostela where pilgrims traditionally first see the city. The organizers focus the entire race on one distance, concentrating support, staffing, and attention on that single long route.
The course crosses named Camino locations instead of a closed road circuit, with aid stations at symbolic points like Boente, Arzúa, A Salceda, O Pedrouzo, and Lavacolla before the finish at Monte do Gozo. It is presented as a well-liked, international event for diverse participants, and its non-competitive trail designation aligns with its pilgrim-route character. The race also receives public support from the Diputación da Coruña, aiding its continuation each autumn.
