XXXVIII. Vasi Vasember

At Csónakázó Lake, the Vasi Vasember begins its 42nd running, a race with deep local ties, in a place where “generations grew up to the sound of the starting pistol.” Now a short-course national championship, it retains a local feel. Triathlon enthusiasts, novices, experienced competitors, women, seniors, adult men, relay teams, and “try triathlon” participants observe the same old ritual in the “cradle of triathlon.” The day begins with the lake swim, followed by a bike course through Nárai, Pornóapáti, Horvátlövő, Vaskeresztes, Felsőcsatár, Narda, and Bucsu. The race concludes with a run that includes the Vasi Museum Village. Described as an “honestly human-testing task,” the event fosters a family atmosphere where athletes support one another. The potato pasta adds to the club tradition feel, making it more than just a competition. The experience of crossing the finish line is memorable.
