The Granfondo Marathon Dolomiti Friulane, an FCI-accredited mountain bike race, takes place in Claut, province of Pordenone, within the Friulian Dolomites Natural Park. Held on a late-August weekend, it utilizes the Alta Valcellina area, with race headquarters at the Alceo della Valentina Ice Stadium. The start and finish are located on the technical cross-country ski track, lending the event a distinctly local mountain-sports atmosphere before participants venture onto dirt roads, trails, climbs, and descents.
The primary Marathon route spans 60 km with 2,200 meters of elevation gain. The 40 km Granfondo, featuring 1,200 meters of climbing, is designated for junior riders. The course begins with flat sections before ascending and descending along the Col Masiera track. It passes the Tre Pini cross-country ring, follows the Cellina riverbed, and reaches the Conca Verde path in central Claut. From there, it climbs towards Rifugio Pradut, descends to Casera Casavento, ascends again on the historic Alpini Road, and goes through Forcella Clautana, where a jersey is awarded to the best climber. The race is also a qualifier for the Regional XC Marathon FVG title, concludes the FVG MTB Tour, and is part of the Rampitek circuit.
