Ingorda is a May cycling event originating in Parma, crossing Italy’s Food Valley and centered on eating as much as riding. The complete route spans 85 km from Parma to Busseto, following the permanent Food Valley Bike path and featuring 10 gastronomic stops. A shorter Mezza Ingorda option covers 40 km from Parma to Colorno, with 6 food stops included. This is a cicloturistico ride, not a speed race, and gravel, MTB, trekking, and e-bikes are recommended.
The course utilizes many traffic-free paths and secondary roads, with no significant climbs or technical sections beyond brief gravel stretches. Road bikes are prohibited, and helmets are required. Participants will pass locations linked to local history and culture, such as the Reggia di Colorno, the Po Grande and Parma Morta reserves, Giuseppe Verdi’s homeland, and the “Mondo Piccolo” of Don Camillo and Peppone. The food stops are central to the event, offering Parmigiano Reggiano, pasta al pomodoro, risotto, anolini, tortel dols, spalla cotta and cruda, ciccioli, Culatello di Zibello, prugna zucchella, and spongata. A bus equipped for bike transport is available to return riders from Busseto to Parma.
