PanSec

PanSec sends riders from Fanano into the Appennino Modenese, between the Panaro and Secchia rivers, from late May into early June. It is a gravel, trail, and bikepacking event, with routes that use dirt roads, paved stretches, and bike paths. Every route starts and finishes in Fanano. The format is deliberately loose: there are no timing chips or clocks. People can ride with friends or on their own, and the event encourages spending a few dusty days on the bike. Registration proceeds go to projects run by the association Un Ponte verso Betlemme, so the social purpose is built into the entry fee.
