Tuscany Race is a competitive granfondo cycling circuit in Tuscany, comprising three events: the Giro della Questura di Lucca, the Granfondo Città di Livorno, and Poggi di Maremma. It is for riders who view cycling as both a sport and a means to explore the region, from amateurs testing their abilities to stronger competitors seeking a specific outcome.
The Lucca event covers about 70 km through hilly countryside and villages in the province, with origins in the 1970s and past participation by Mario Cipollini and Michele Bartoli. The Livorno granfondo crosses the hills of Livorno and Pisa, featuring climbs, descents, and sea views, and it commemorates the victims of the city’s flood. Poggi di Maremma moves the circuit inland toward the Grosseto hinterland, providing the series with a broader Tuscan scope than a race focused on a single city.
