The Hakuba Snow Harp Cross Country Race is a two-day summer running event in Hakuba Village, Nagano, taking place at the Snow Harp venue, which was used for the Nagano Winter Olympics cross-country skiing races. The first day features ekiden-style relays, including the national elementary school cross-country relay exchange meet. The second day is dedicated to individual cross-country races.
The course utilizes a winter-sport venue instead of a typical road loop, offering a running experience akin to competing on a field rather than pursuing a fast city time. The event accommodates various participants: school teams, workplace groups, friends, club runners, and solo entrants. Teams can participate in the relay, while individual runners can compete for personal bests. Hakuba Village spearheads the event with local athletics and tourism backing, and Olympic Nordic combined medalist Akito Watabe is participating as a guest runner.
