The Utrechtse Heuvelrug Ultra Trail is a nature ultra with a limited field, based in Leersum, starting at Molecaten Landgoed Ginkelduin. Participants select from 50, 75, or 100 km distances. The UHUT100 consists of two 50 km loops: the first in the morning towards Amerongen, the second later towards Austerlitz. Entry is intentionally restricted, with only 50 runners permitted per distance, creating a more intimate trail event than a large-scale race.
The route is navigated by GPS and crosses a significant portion of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, a forested ridge in the central Netherlands. The course features diverse singletrack and passes through historically significant locations. The 100 km runners face approximately 806 meters of elevation gain. The 50 km options are listed at 450 and 356 meters, while the 75 km route shows around 650 meters in the race details and is also recognized as a UTMB Index distance. Organizers describe it as a challenging ultra, appealing to runners seeking long, runnable trails, shifting forest landscapes, and a unique opportunity to cross nearly the entire Heuvelrug in a single event.
