Hove Tri, held on Hove at Tromøy near Arendal in southern Norway, gathers swimmers, cyclists, and runners in early June. Organized by Arendal Triathlon, it is one of Norway's largest annual triathlon events. Primarily designed for amateurs, the race has also served as the venue for the Norwegian Championships on multiple occasions. Competitors can select from a Short race, a Long race, a Supersprint for participants aged 13 to 16, and Hove Trilek for children aged 6 to 12.
The Short race involves a 500 m swim, a 20 km cycle, and a 5 km run. The Long race features a 1,500 m swim followed by a doubled bike and run distance. The Supersprint offers a 375 m swim, a 10 km cycle, and a 2.5 km run for teenagers, with adjusted distances for younger participants in the children's event. Hove Tri began in 2009 and has taken place annually since, continuing through the pandemic. Initial entries numbered a few hundred, peaking at approximately 1,400 participants before a decline, with numbers increasing again in recent years. When the Norwegian Championships are included, the event extends over two days.
