Trollveggen Triatlon begins with a fjord swim and concludes with a steep ascent into the mountains above Åndalsnes. This summer triathlon, held in Norway's Trollveggen and Isfjorden region, typically takes place in late June. It combines swimming, cycling, and mountain running within a single race day. The primary course features 1,200 meters of swimming in the fjord, a 53 km bike ride towards Trollveggen and Isfjorden, and a run up Nesaksla involving approximately 1,000 meters of elevation gain.
The race is designed for both spectators and athletes. Participants will pass through the town center multiple times, allowing families to follow sections of the event without needing to track the entire course. Spectators can also ascend the mountain via gondola to observe the run at higher elevations. Previous editions have utilized Åndalsnes harbor for the swim and incorporated challenging bike and run segments, including climbs towards Trollstigen and Stabbeskaret. Now in its seventeenth edition, the event possesses sufficient local history to be considered established while retaining its distinct mountain-race character.
