Ninety percent of the Helenowski Bieg Przełajowy takes place on forest tracks adjacent to Primary School No. 3 in Goleniów-Helenów, within Poland’s West Pomeranian region. This June off-road race is based at Jodłowa Street 33, with the start and finish lines located by the school building. The primary running distance is 10 km, consisting of three laps of approximately 3.3 km. The same loop also accommodates a shorter Nordic Walking march. Some editions include shorter running options and courses for children or juniors, making the event suitable for more than just adult trail runners.
The route features soft forest paths, shaded areas, and pine-scented tracks instead of asphalt, requiring different leg exertion compared to a road race. A water station is available after the first lap, and the repeated-loop format simplifies spectator following. Local Helenów groups organize the event, promoting the Helenów estate, mass running, basic physical activity, and nature engagement. Near the finish, the atmosphere is local and down-to-earth, with families, juniors, and regular runners mingling. After the race, participants can explore Goleniów's Planty Park, the medieval Wolińska Gate, or enjoy a walk along the Ina river.
