Fredsloppet Malmö is a non-profit running and walking event for peace and solidarity, held on the lawn between Pildammsteatern and Baltiska Vägen in Malmö. It takes place on a Saturday in August, featuring a 5 km run, a 2.5 km walk, children’s and youth races over 1 km and 2.5 km, and several 200 m Mini-Fredsloppet starts for the youngest participants. None of the distances are timed, emphasizing participation and support for the cause over achieving a specific time.
The programme runs through the day, beginning with Mini-Fredsloppet waves and children’s races, followed by the walk and the 5 km run. All surplus money and donations are directed annually to groups working against war and oppression, with support allocated to Palestine-related work and a portion to Swedish-Cuban Association projects in Cuba. Proletären FF organizes the event, with local political, peace, solidarity, and community groups acting as co-organizers. Groups of at least six can register together for a discount, regardless of chosen distances. Participants can also join a shared Strava club for pre-event training and mutual encouragement.
