The International Kościan Half Marathon is a 21.1 km road race held in Kościan, located in Poland’s Wielkopolskie region, typically taking place in late October. It is named in honor of Dr. Henryk Florkowski and begins at the Henryk Tomkiewicz Municipal Stadium. The event is organized by the Kościan poviat authorities and LKS Sana Kościan, with backing from local governments in the Kościan area. The half marathon is part of the Grand Prix Wielkopolski, attracting runners who participate in the regional race circuit, alongside local club runners and casual participants. Entry is limited to 1,200 participants, with registration conducted online. The entry fee structure is divided into three periods, each offering different guaranteed starter-pack items. A companion race is also held, contributing to the event’s local race atmosphere beyond just the half marathon distance.
