SummerRun Graz, sponsored by MeinBezirk, is a series of three summer races held at the Grazer Stadtstrand. Each race begins at 9:00 AM. The concept is straightforward: all participants run the same AIMS-measured 5 km circuit. Runners decide their distance during the event by finishing one or more laps. Depending on the specific race in the series, distances range from 5 km to 20 km, accommodating both those seeking a short summer challenge and individuals training for longer distances.
The course starts and ends at the Stadtstrand. It crosses the Puchsteg, runs along the Murradweg, goes under the Puntigamer Brücke, and proceeds onto Murfelder Straße via the southern bike overpass. The route turns shortly after the Gasrohrsteg. Since the 5 km lap remains consistent throughout the series, runners can directly compare their performances between events. The social aspect follows the race, with participants invited to stay at the Stadtstrand for "After-Run-Chillen" rather than leaving immediately.
