About this race
The Kurrajong Carpark in the Plantation directs this race onto the gentler MTB tracks of You Yangs Regional Park. The Crazy 6 Race is a six-hour team race with a club atmosphere: teams of two or three, in female, male, or mixed categories, ride laps instead of following a single point-to-point course. It is part of the Autumn Series and is described as one of the "most fun events in our calendar," suggesting it's a day people return to annually.
The race follows a straightforward, tactical rhythm: each rider completes a lap in turn before handing over and resting. Riders can complete as many laps as they choose before the finish, making pacing, nutrition, and selecting the appropriate category more important than treating it as an individual endurance challenge. The event accommodates a wide range of participants, from 13 years old and up, with mountain bikes and e-mountain bikes. Adaptive Riders are also welcomed, and the club aims to adapt the courses to their specific needs.
