About this race
The Darwin Runners & Walkers Half Marathon is a 21 km club race at Lake Alexander in Darwin, offering solo entries and team relay options. It is part of a practical local running calendar, not a large-scale event. The club also organizes a 10 km road championship at Lake Alexander and weekly 2 km and 5 km runs around Darwin, with dry-season starts at 6:00 pm and wet-season starts at 6:15 pm.
The half marathon course is at Lake Alexander. Race updates are available via the club’s Facebook page and online registration. Participants likely include regular Darwin Runners & Walkers members, walkers, relay teams, and local runners who attend the club’s weekly sessions. The club culture is relaxed and social, with free water provided at Wednesday runs, soft drinks sold from a trailer, and informal Saturday morning runs departing Parap Bakery at 6:00 am sharp for distances around 10 to 13 km.
