Goldsborough Goldrush 2026

SAT, September 12, 2026 · Goldsborough Valley Day Use Area , Australia

About this race

Goldsborough Valley Day Use Area serves as the starting point for a true rainforest trail day, with the course moving from the Mulgrave River Valley into Wooroonooran National Park. The Goldsborough Goldrush feels like a challenging run rather than a formal road event: it is hilly, can be wet underfoot if the weather changes, and is designed for experienced trail runners comfortable in "lush rainforest terrain." Every course is an out-and-back, making the turnaround point significant, particularly on the longer routes that extend to the East Mulgrave Causeway before heading back. Anticipate "dense tropical vegetation," "creek crossings," rolling trails, and those "stunning rainforest vistas" that make the effort worthwhile. The most distinctive feature is the old Goldfield Trail itself, tracing paths once used by gold miners through the "pristine Wooroonooran rainforest," offering a genuine wilderness running experience beyond just a race in the woods.
