Hahndorf Pioneer Women's Trail Walk

From Hahndorf toward Beaumont, the first Hahndorf Pioneer Women's Trail Walk has the sort of backstory runners and walkers remember after the splits are forgotten. It sits in Warren Bonython territory: The Cedars, Heysen, the Flinders, and a life “synonymous with bushwalking in South Australia,” from the Dandenong Ranges to the Larapinta Trail and beyond. The route is a point-to-point walk, simple on paper, but carrying a proper pioneer wink. Warren joined 150 others with “a huge marrow strapped to his back” in honour of the pioneers, which is exactly the kind of silly, stubborn detail that makes an event feel alive.
