Townsville East Water Tanks Run

The Townsville East Water Tanks Run begins at the City Oasis Inn on Wills Street in Townsville, North Queensland. This Townsville Road Runners club event offers two distances: a 9km run and a 5km option. Both races commence at 6:30am, an early start to help participants avoid the heat in North Queensland's warmer months. The course follows roads and mixed terrain, primarily sealed paths, with moderate elevation changes. The main local landmark is the water tanks on the city's eastern side. The route also provides views over Townsville and toward Cleveland Bay. Club members and visitors are welcome, aligning with the Townsville Road Runners' schedule of Saturday morning runs at various local spots, with competitive events held from March to October.
