Dargle Farm in the Lower Hawkesbury provides True Grit NSW a wild setting: grasslands open into dense rainforest, muddy swamps threaten to take shoes, and rugged cliffs ensure a demanding course. It is an Australian-owned, military-inspired obstacle race created by special forces, with the challenge heavily integrated into the land itself, featuring “obstacles built straight into the wild terrain.” Expect action across a dozen custom-designed challenges, not a simple run between inflatables. A-Frame climbs, traverse ropes, monkey bars, the wall, pontoon bridges, tyre walls, and the big climb punctuate the running. Solo runners can join the Black Dog Waves, and first-timers with basic fitness are welcome. Finishers receive a t-shirt, but the lasting memento is likely the mud from some of the toughest, muddiest obstacles True Grit has presented.
