About this race
Scenic World anchors the UTA11, and from there the route immediately enters the Blue Mountains tracks that give this event substance beyond its short format. It is presented as a "good first step" into trail running, not a simple jog: Prince Henry Cliff Walk, Echo Point, Fern Bower, Leura Forest, Federal Pass, Landslide, and the Furber Steps are actual trail names with distinct character.
Expect a "beautiful course" with sufficient climbing and descending for beginners to get a real feel for it without deterring newer runners or mixed-ability groups. The challenge is reserved for the finish, where all 951 Furber Steps ascend back to Scenic World, offering a direct lesson in what Ultra-Trail entails. The participants will likely include many first-time trail runners, but the location, required gear, start groupings, and the Blue Mountains' "unpredictable weather systems" ensure it feels like a significant adventure rather than a relaxed path run.
