Running: Trois-Rivières runners get easy base miles around Île Saint-Quentin and along the Saint-Maurice River and Saint Lawrence River. The first route is 45 km with 34 m of gain. The second route is 43 km with 124 m of gain. Défi Entreprises Trois-Rivières anchors the road calendar. PFBS – Athlétisme Patriotes gives the track crowd a real marker.
Cycling: Club Cyclique de la Mauricie is the main riding crew, and the club has been based in Trois-Rivières since 1988. Summer outings roll Tuesday evenings at 5:30 pm, Thursday mornings at 9:00 am, and Saturday mornings. Members split into groups, and average speeds run from 25 to 35 km/h. Locals ride Rue Lafond, BD Louis Loranger, Gravel and sand road, and Chemin Toussain-Biron when they want gravel bite. Lachute à 3-Riv and Trois-Rivières à La Chute give pavement legs. The listed climbs stay unnamed, so riders use route gain and rollers for intervals.
Season: May through October is the clean training window, and summer gives runners and cyclists the easiest Z2 rhythm. July brings an average high of 24°C, and summer reaches 30°C on 5.5 days, so locals start earlier when the workout matters. Défis du Parc, Le Trail de Vallée du Parc 2026, Shawi-Beach, Notos Ultra Trail, Défi des bois, Bonjour Printemps, and Eagle’s Backyard Ultra keep the calendar honest. Winter changes the whole setup. Snowfall averages 230 cm, reliable snow cover sits from December to March, and January highs around -6°C push more workouts indoors or onto packed routes.
