AUSSCHREIBUNG HALBMARATHON 2026

Eighty percent of the Altötting Half Marathon takes place on paved forest paths within the Altöttinger Forst. This international half marathon in Altötting, Bavaria, located approximately 80 km from Munich and 60 km from Salzburg, has been held for over 30 years. The event also features a 6 km run/walk suitable for short-distance runners, Nordic walkers, and beginners, alongside a 1300 m fun run for children and hobby runners. Organizers describe the half marathon as the fastest natural run globally, with course records of 1:08:38 for women and 1:01:39 for men supporting its standing as one of Germany’s swiftest half marathons. The course is predominantly flat, sheltered from wind, and situated mainly within the forest, making it ideal for runners aiming for a fast time and those seeking a more tranquil natural route. Pacemakers are available for target finish times of 1:30, 1:45, 2:00, 2:15, and 2:30. Musical entertainment, ranging from samba drummers to hard rock bands, is present along sections of the course, particularly in a more energetic final kilometer. All participants receive custom medals, complimentary childcare for children aged five and above, secure clothing storage, and a free guided city tour. European Athletics recognized the race with a five-star award, evaluating aspects such as course measurement, medical support, timing, safety, results dissemination, social responsibility, and overall value.
