About this race
The Emsland Triathlon is a sprint-distance race held at Möllersee in Meppen. It is organized by the triathlon division of SuS Darme 1926 e.V. The race follows the standard short format: a 600 m swim in the lake, a 24 km bike course, and a 5 km run. The event is DTU-approved and offers both individual and relay categories, with approximately 170 solo athletes and 29 relay participants expected.
The swim takes place in Möllersee. The bike course utilizes the nearby Panzerstraße for three laps, and the run course circles the lake three times. Formerly known as the 3Life Triathlon, the race is still in its early years in its current iteration, following a successful debut. It offers a family-oriented atmosphere, distinct from a large-city race. Notably, the race attracted a surprise participant in Michellie Jones, the Australian Olympic silver medalist, who secured second place in Meppen.
