Panoramalauf Rothenberg 2026

Panoramalauf Rothenberg starts and finishes at the sports hall on Landwehrstrasse in Oberzent-Rothenberg, in the Odenwald region of Hesse. It is a public road and landscape run, mostly on asphalt, with races from short children’s events to longer adult distances: 400 m, 1,000 m, 5 km running or walking, the 10 km main race, and the 22 km Azurit Half Marathon. The 10 km route is officially measured by the German Athletics Association, so results can count for rankings, and the event is included in regional standings. The course sits at nearly 500 m above sea level and gains about 40 m on each 5 km loop, making it runnable but not completely flat. It begins near large oak trees, passes chickens, opens views toward Katzenbuckel and Konigstuhl, and on very clear days can reach as far as the Vosges. Runners turn around near the airfield, then return through Hohenstrasse and Landwehrstrasse toward the sports hall, either to finish or start another lap. SG Rothenberg 1946 e.V. runs the event through its running group, founded in 2019, with prizes for the fastest overall finishers, a 250 euro bonus for a 10 km course record, printable online certificates for all participants, and a prize for the largest registered team.
