About this race
Carrera 10K Mercamadrid is a 10-kilometer run held within Mercamadrid, the large food distribution complex in Madrid. Mercamadrid organizes the event, with entries limited to 2,000 bibs. This keeps the field contained for a course that travels through active market and logistics areas usually off-limits to the public. The race connects running with healthy eating, using the slogan “Sport and food = healthy life.” It is intended for families and recreational runners, as well as competitive club athletes.
The route guides runners through the central fish, fruit, vegetable, and meat markets, then continues through the hospitality building, logistics zones, warehouses, and internal roads of the food hub. The setting is the primary attraction: participants run through the interior of Spain’s largest food distribution platform, rather than on typical city streets. The event offers the public a unique view of the infrastructure supporting Madrid’s food supply, maintaining a straightforward format: one 10K, inside the market, centered on sport, food, and healthy habits.
