Below Solymár Castle, on the edge of the Buda hills, this second SzalamandRUN race is a trail run with varied distances and age categories set in the slopes and woods. It is a local race where families, kids, first-timers, steady mid-pack runners, and those over 60 can gather at the race center, while the more challenging routes still demand respect.
The course follows natural paths with sections of forest dirt road and asphalt, so wear shoes suitable for varied terrain. Trails are marked with painted arrows, ribbons, and signs. The longer routes require basic self-sufficiency, such as carrying a phone and water bottle. All participants finish below the castle, with chip timing, a finisher medal, and refreshments available on the longer courses and at the finish. The event also features environmentally conscious race management with a focus on reducing waste.
