The Sarkadi Futóverseny is a running event in Sarkad, Hungary, held at the Sarkadi Youth Camp, also known as Éden Camp, on Hargita promenade. Participants can select from 2 km, 6 km, or 10 km distances, all constructed from the same 2 km circuit. The longer races involve completing three or five laps. The event is scheduled for the evening, beginning with bib collection, followed by an official opening by the mayor, a communal warm-up, and then staggered starts for the short race and the longer distances. The course departs Éden Camp, circumnavigating the town via Bihar, Szondy, Árpád, Kossuth, and Hargita promenade before re-entering the camp. Each 2 km lap includes 27 meters of elevation gain, making the race challenging despite its short length. The 2 km run is untimed, emphasizing participation with a finisher medal and package. In contrast, the 6 km and 10 km races utilize electronic timing and recognize the top three male and female finishers overall, without separate age categories. The Sarkad Hobby Runners Sports Association, in conjunction with the municipality, organizes the event, which promotes amateur running, healthy lifestyles, and active leisure time.
