About this race
The Kalvøya Aquathlon, held in late spring on Kalvøya near Sandvika in Bærum, features the Norwegian Championship and Youth Championship in aquathlon. The event is also open to recreational athletes, beginners, adults, youth, and children. Aquathlon distances include supersprint (350m swim, 2.5km run), sprint (750m swim, 5km run), and long distance (2000m swim, 10km run).
The course utilizes the island's environment, with swimming circuits around or alongside Kalvøya and running segments tailored to each category. A separate 2000m open-water swim is offered, and participants may enter the swim-only race and the aquathlon. The "Trippelen" option combines long distance, sprint, and supersprint races with brief intermissions. Children's events consist of a 50-100m swim and a 700m run, with all child finishers receiving a medal and T-shirt. BSV Triatlon organizes this fourth annual event. Cold water may reduce the swim distance to 1500m or 740m based on temperature.
