About this race
Leighton's Farm at South Head serves as the starting point, and the format is pure navigation, not a marked-course trail run. North West Rogaine Series 2 is a "90 minute foot rogaine," emphasizing efficient movement, clear thinking, and making your own route choices rather than following pre-set markers.
You travel on foot, "navigating by map and compass," with checkpoints located throughout the area and no required sequence for visiting them. "Checkpoints may be visited in any order," each assigned a point value, allowing total beginners to adopt a simple strategy while experienced rogainers can pursue a more complex plan. The fundamental rule is straightforward: "highest score wins."
