About this race
The Timaru Ten is a 10 km road race held at Levels Raceway in Timaru, New Zealand. It features a fast, flat course suitable for novice runners and those aiming for a personal best. The main 10 km race is complemented by a Kids Mile and the Bluestone Cup 10k, making the event a family-oriented race day rather than a single mass start. The local, relaxed atmosphere of the raceway setting encourages spectator attendance and cheering.
The course utilizes the raceway grounds with a single short lap, offering participants a controlled and swift route free of inclines. The event has previously served as the venue for New Zealand’s National Road 10 km Championships, attracting strong competitors such as Olympian Sam Tanner, with Whippets Running Project athletes securing senior titles amidst wet, puddled conditions. Post-race, attendees can enjoy complimentary coffee and food, with an informal gathering for those still in race bibs at Speights Ale House.
