About this race

Prepare for one of the most unique and symbolic races in this part of Europe. The Course sans Frontières (Lauf ohne Grenzen) is organized in the border town of Gubin, Poland, and the neighboring German town of Guben. This sporting event literally and figuratively connects two nations, two cities, and thousands of runners' passions. Forget traditional borders; here, barriers are lifted, and the only thing that matters is a common sporting goal. The main event is typically a certified 10 km course, which is very fast and perfectly flat. Organizers also often offer a shorter distance, such as 5 km, and races for children and teenagers. The course has a particularly interesting cross-border character: you start in Poland and, after crossing the bridge over the Lusatian Neisse River, you find yourself in Germany for a short time before returning to the Polish side. It is an incredible sensation to be cheered on during the same race by residents of two different countries, in two languages. The flat profile favors personal bests, and the international atmosphere provides extra motivation for the final sprint. Once you cross the finish line and receive a Polish-German souvenir medal, the Euroville Gubin-Guben invites you to excellent cross-border recovery activities. The Theaterinsel (Theater Island) in Gubin is the green heart of the Polish-German border. Located on the Lusatian Neisse, this island was once a cultural center and is now a beautifully restored park with theater ruins. It is an ideal place for a leisurely post-race walk, to ease sore muscles, and relax by the water. The ruins of the parish church in Gubin are a monumental Gothic parish church from the 14th century, destroyed during World War II. Today, its secured ruins are an incredible historical monument and a symbol of Polish-German reconciliation. Taking a photo with your medal against the backdrop of this immense structure is an absolute must. A walk through German Guben is also worthwhile. After the race, it is worth crossing the river again, this time at a leisurely pace. Guben offers charming architecture, well-kept parks, and interesting traces of its former cloth industry. It's an excellent opportunity for a quick trip abroad. A Polish-German feast is the best way to replenish calories burned on the course by enjoying local flavors from both sides of the border. In Gubin, traditional Polish żurek or roasted meats await you. After crossing the bridge, you can taste classic German Bratwurst with mustard or a traditional schnitzel with a cold regional beer. If you stay in the area longer after the competition and desire complete isolation, head a few kilometers north to the Krzesin Landscape Park. The surrounding lakes, surrounded by pine forests, are a great place for true nature relaxation and a reset after the race emotions. The Course sans Frontières in Gubin is an event with a fantastic atmosphere, where sport becomes a universal language of understanding. Impeccable organization, great supporters on both sides of the Neisse, and a racing adventure that shows that passion knows no barriers. Exceed your limits in Gubin!
