About this race
Rajd Wokół Tatr is a long road cycling ride based in Nowy Targ in Lesser Poland. Riders start from the town centre, including the market square or Hala Gorce. It takes place in late August and covers 205 km with about 2,500 m of climbing, making it a full-day mountain-road outing rather than a short race. The event is organized by Stowarzyszenie Rajd wokół Tatr, and about 400 cyclists are expected.
The route leaves Nowy Targ via local and regional roads towards Czarny Dunajec, Chochołów, and Suchá Hora. It crosses into Slovakia before returning to Nowy Targ by national road. Riders use open roads and follow normal traffic rules, giving the day more of a road-raid feel than a closed-course race. The appeal lies in the scale of the loop: mountain panoramas, forested stretches, and a steady rhythm for cyclists who prefer long rides and managing their own pace. After finishing, participants can find local food and souvenirs at the market, visit the Czorsztyn reservoir for a view of Niedzica Castle, or go to the thermal baths in Białka Tatrzańska.
