About this race
Rajd Wokół Tatr is a 205 km road cycling ride starting in Nowy Targ, Lesser Poland, held in late August encircling the Tatra Mountains. Beginning near Hala Gorce, it demands a full day on mountain roads, featuring approximately 2,500 m of elevation gain, distinct from a short, closed-circuit race. An estimated 400 cyclists will participate, with the event organized by Stowarzyszenie Rajd wokół Tatr.
The course departs Nowy Targ via Al. Tysiąclecia and ul. Ludźmierska, proceeding through Czarny Dunajec, Chochołów, and Suchá Hora before entering Slovakia. Participants will return to Nowy Targ on national road no. 49, navigating open roads under standard traffic regulations, emphasizing the importance of pacing, awareness, and self-reliance. The primary appeal lies in the extensive loop around the Tatras, offering mountain vistas, extended road sections, and nearby post-ride amenities like the Czorsztyn reservoir or thermal baths.
