About this race
VeloBank Via Dolny Śląsk is a Polish road-cycling series held in Lower Silesia, with a Miękinia road classic concluding the local Cycling Weekend. The series, still in its early stages, saw its Miękinia race attract nearly 500 participants. The event was divided into six distinct races and distances, allowing stronger riders, hobby riders, women, and masters competitors to race separately rather than in a single combined field.
The Miękinia races utilized laps exceeding 25 km. The PRO field completed four laps for a total of 101 km, and the SPORT field also rode four laps. HOBBY, ADVENTURE, the women’s race, and the masters race each consisted of two laps, with starts staggered every three minutes. The broader Cycling Weekend also featured Bike Maraton events and the PKO Ubezpieczenia Junior Race, where close to 300 children competed over two days. A recent addition to the series is an open classification spanning all races. The Miękinia PRO race featured a solo performance by Wojciech Zieliński, who maintained a lead for most of the course ahead of the pursuing group.
