About this race
Halland Ultra Beach Trail is a point-to-point ultra on Sweden’s west coast, covering 200 miles from Gothenburg to Båstad. The full route is divided into six stages, designed for free trail running across open coastal terrain instead of a closed, heavily supported race corridor. Participants can also opt for 100 miles, 100 km, or a single stage of 40-75 km if the full distance is too demanding.
The course crosses heathland, pastures, forest trails, rocky shores, grassy shores, and sandy shores, incorporating some road sections and a few water crossings. It is unmarked, requiring runners to navigate using a GPX track alongside a map or roadbook, and they must remain self-sufficient between stage finishes. At these finishes, runners receive food, indoor space for rest, and access to drop bags.
