Coeur d' Alene Triathlon

The Coeur d'Alene Triathlon begins and ends at City Park & Beach in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Transitions and the finish line are situated next to Lake Coeur d'Alene and City Beach. This is a long-standing summer multisport event offering Olympic, sprint, and duathlon distances. The day commences early, with the Olympic race starting before the sprint. The Olympic race features a 1.5K swim, while the sprint is shorter with a 500-meter swim, a 13-mile bike ride, and a 5K run. The Olympic swim presents the race’s most distinctive feature: participants begin from a cruise ship and swim toward the bay. Sprint athletes start from the city park beach, with distinct waves for men and women. The bike course follows the lake’s edge along Coeur d’Alene Lake Drive. The Olympic bike course includes ascents on Mullan Trail Road; the duathlon utilizes a full 40K bike course. The run proceeds north on the North Idaho Centennial Trail beside the Spokane River. The 5K turn-around is near the University of Idaho/LCSC Harbor Center, and the 10K turns under the Seltice Way overpass before heading back to City Park.
