The Tater Trot
SAT APR 3
The Tater Trot name belongs to small, community-first running events with a potato-country sense of humor. In Antigo, Wisconsin, the Tater Trot is held every second Saturday of August with a 10K run, 6K run/walk, and 2K run, and it supports local youth groups. Other races using the name include a North Carolina Potato Festival 5K and 1-mile walk in Elizabeth City, and a Racine County memorial 5K run/walk in Wisconsin honoring Deputy Joshua "Tater" LaForge. The Antigo race draws children, older adults, walkers, club runners, and families, with proceeds going to cross-country teams, schools, athletic programs, and youth organizations; more than $120,000 has been donated since it began. The North Carolina race starts and finishes at Charles Creek Park, a 3-acre waterfront park with a playground, picnic shelter, grills, restrooms, volleyball, boating, fishing, and festival food nearby. The Racine County event carries a different meaning: it remembers Josh LaForge, who served the community in law enforcement for more than 18 years, and its proceeds support his law enforcement family.
Dogwood-Azalea Festival 5k
SUN APR 18
The Dogwood-Azalea Festival 5k is a community road race held at Rolwing Park in Charleston, Missouri, during the city’s annual Dogwood Azalea Festival. The main event is a 5K on a USATF-certified course. A 5K Youth Run and a one-block Toddler Run are also available for families. The route is flat and well marked, utilizing local streets including E Cypress Street, Main Street, Byrd Avenue, S Virginia, E Commercial, 13th Street, Warde Road, and S Gilmore Street. Runners will finish near the Scout Cabin, where packet pick-up and registration are handled. Police staff several intersections, coned lanes separate runners from traffic, and a water stop is located about 1.75 miles into the race.

About 5K races in Paducah

Paducah Base Miles

Paducah hosts 7 5K races in 2026 within 80 km of the city centre — upcoming dates, recurring series, and other races nearby, all in one place.

Locals run Paducah from The Coke Plant, the Greenway Trail, Noble Park, and the streets around Lower Town Arts District. The 6-mile loop starts and ends at The Coke Plant and passes the Legendary Chief Paduke Statue, Frenchtown Station, the Lower Town Arts District, and the National Quilt Museum. The 8-mile loop uses the Greenway Trail into Bob Noble Park, and the 10-mile loop keeps going past Brooks Stadium and Robert Coleman Park and Sprayground. West Kentucky Runners Club has been active since 2004 and keeps the community side strong. Run Under The Stars™ is the anchor event at Carson Park.

Locals ride flat base miles across McCracken County, then head south when they want rolling hills. The Greenway Trail gives riders 5 miles across the north side of Paducah, with packed gravel from Stuart Nelson Park to Bob Noble Park and 3 miles of concrete from Noble Park east to Campbell Street. Chain Reaction Cycling Club runs weekly group rides, and the Monday Evening ride gives locals 14, 20, 20, and 28 mile options. Spokes for Strokes 2026 has 65 miles with rolling hills, plus 35, 20, and 10 mile routes. LBL sits 30 miles east with hard packed singletrack and Canal Loop Trail miles.

Summer mornings belong to early Z2, Greenway miles, and Noble Park laps before the public pool opens Tuesday through Sunday afternoons. Locals use the city’s flat roads for steady base miles, then save south Paducah rollers or LBL23K-style gain for harder days. Winter changes the rhythm more than the routes. West Kentucky Runners hosts Group Run Under the Lights at Noble Park on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 6:30 am, and riders keep it practical with downtown streets, the Greenway Trail, and lighter group miles when cold mornings hit.
