Recurring 5K races near Sebring

Races that repeat — weekly, monthly or yearly

AdventHealth Sebring Foundation Pink on Parade 5K & 1 Mile Run/Walk Presented by Chen Dental
SUN OCT 4
Pink on Parade is a community 5K and 1-mile run/walk in Sebring, Florida, based at 4200 Sun N Lake Boulevard. The race is tied to AdventHealth Sebring Foundation and supports people affected by breast cancer: participants run or walk to honor those in treatment, celebrate survivors, and remember loved ones who have died. It also offers a virtual 5K, so supporters can join without being on the Sebring course. Race morning starts early, with packet pickup, an opening ceremony, and both in-person distances beginning at 7:30 am. This is more of a pink-shirt community fundraiser than a hard-edged racing event, though awards are given after the run and walk. Families are part of the day, with games and food truck vendors after the course. More than 300 men and women have joined each year over the last six years, usually wearing their pinkest gear. Since 2017, the event has directed more than $275,000 to the AdventHealth Sebring Breast Center, helping buy breast-care technology and supporting people in Hardee and Highlands counties who cannot afford breast cancer screenings.

SAT OCT 31
Faith and Freedom 5K
SAT NOV 7
The Faith and Freedom 5K is a Veterans Day run/walk in Sebring, Florida, beginning at 8:00 AM within Highlands Hammock State Park. It is organized by Bob's Vets of Highlands County, a faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The race honors veterans and offers local runners and walkers a standard 5K distance. The course is located at the park address on Hammock Road, keeping the event connected to one of Highlands County's primary outdoor areas. Bob's Vets utilizes outdoor trips as therapy for disabled veterans, sponsoring all-expense-paid hunting, fishing, and kayaking excursions. Awards consist of custom dog tags for the top three male and female finishers in each age group, along with Overall Open, Master, and Grand Master categories. Divisions span from young children to participants aged 80 and above.
34th Annual Turkey Trot 5k Run/Walk
THU NOV 26
Jingle Bell 5K and Kids Santa Fun Run - Avon Park, FL
FRI DEC 11
The Jingle Bell 5K and Kids Santa Fun Run begins and ends at The Historic Jacaranda Hotel in downtown Avon Park, Florida. This holiday evening event features a one-block kids’ race at 6:30 p.m. and a 5K run/walk at 7:00 p.m. For over 20 years, the race has been a fixture of Avon Park’s Christmas season, centered on running, walking, children racing Santa, and gathering gifts for local children in foster care. The 5K course winds through Avon Park’s mile-long decorated mall. Runners begin first, followed by walkers, and then special needs and IDD children and adults. The event supports The Who I Am Foundation, benefiting local foster care children and those with special needs. Participants with special needs from Ridge Area ARC and the surrounding community are included, with reduced entry fees and free participation for their caregivers. Kids in the Fun Run get a goodie bag, all participants receive a swag bag at registration and a Christmas ornament at the finish, and new pajamas are collected on race night for foster care children via Heartland for Children and Worthy and Known Family Project.
AdventHealth Nighthawk Trail Run - Night Owl 5K and Coyote 10K
SAT FEB 6
The AdventHealth Nighthawk Trail Run takes place at Colt Creek State Park in Lakeland, Florida. Runners begin in the late afternoon and conclude after sunset. Participants can choose between the Night Owl 5K Run/Walk, the Coyote 10K, or the Nighthawk Challenge, a 15K combining the 5K and 10K on the trails after dark. Remote participation options are available for those wishing to complete a 5K, 10K, or 15K outside the park. All routes within the park are loops on unpaved trails. 5K participants are required to use a headlamp at the start. The event caters to trail runners, walkers, and those seeking a challenge, distinct from a road-racing audience. Park entry is managed via a day pass or a Florida State Parks annual pass. All participants receive a cotton race shirt, and all finishers are awarded a medal. Nighthawk Challenge finishers receive an additional bonus medal for completing both distances.
The Hunt for Sasquatch
SAT FEB 6
The Hunt for Sasquatch is a Polk County trail race at Bone Valley, presented by Polk County Parks and Recreation. Participants can select 10K, 5K, or 1-mile distances, with each option featuring a color run and a Sasquatch-spotting theme. The event focuses on short off-road racing, suitable for families, casual runners, and trail runners seeking a less intense format. The appeal lies in the combination of trail running, color throws, and the Sasquatch hunt setup.
AdventHealth Orange Blossom Half Marathon-10K-5K
SAT FEB 27
The AdventHealth Orange Blossom Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K take place in Frostproof, a town on the Lake Wales Ridge in South Central Florida. Participants can select a half marathon, 10K, 5K run/walk, or a virtual option. The Orange Blossom Challenge is also available, which is a 15K event combining the 10K and 5K races. The course features gently rolling, hard-packed red clay roads that wind through active citrus groves and older grove land, offering a distinct Florida character away from beaches or cityscapes. The finish line is at Frostproof Middle-Senior High School. Post-race amenities include BBQ, snacks, beverages, and Florida orange juice. Frostproof is accessible from Orlando, Tampa, and South Florida, making the event suitable for a local race or a weekend getaway.

About 5K races in Sebring

Sebring Training Notes

Sebring hosts 11 5K races in 2026 within 80 km of the city centre — upcoming dates, recurring series, and other races nearby, all in one place.

Locals run Lake Jackson first, because the loop is easy to trust for steady base miles and sunrise Z2. The longer route runs 30 km with 56 m of gain when you want more bite. 7 miles. Sebring Recreation Club keeps the community side alive. The Annual Firecracker 5K, Pathfinder 5K Run/Walk, and Turkey Trot 5k give the calendar its anchor race rhythm.

Locals ride Lake Jackson for the casual spin, then stretch into citrus groves, cattle ranches, and dairy farms for longer work. Highlands Pedalers is the name you hear, and the club has a repair stand at Veterans Beach. The Lake Jackson Loop runs just shy of 10 miles and gains 40 m, so it works for coffee pace or intervals. One route climbs 235 m in 2 km, while Brown Thursday packs 320 m of ascent into 25 km. Bike Sebring 12/24, Sebring Gran Fondo, GFNY Florida Sebring, and Highlands Bike Fest are the big anchor events.

September and October bring the best riding months, and locals use them for cleaner tempo, gran fondo prep, and longer Z2 days. Summer brings heat, humidity, and about 57 percent of the total rainfall during June through September, so runners start early and cyclists carry extra bottles. Lake Jackson still works in summer, but the effort feels bigger than the pace says. Winter turns mild and dry, and both sports open up. Runners can stack steadier miles around the city centre and Sun 'n Lake Sebring, while riders can use the Raceway loop, Reedy Lake routes, and longer farm roads without the same heat tax.
