Pocono Mountains Marathon Race Festival: Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K
The Pocono Mountains Marathon Race Festival is a fall running event held at Promised Land State Park in Greentown, Pennsylvania. The marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K all start and finish at the Upper Lake Overflow Parking Lot. This variety allows participants to pursue long-distance goals or enjoy a shorter run within the park. The full marathon is certified as a Boston Marathon qualifier, providing a specific performance benchmark.
The course takes advantage of the Pocono Mountains scenery in autumn, with the route detailed on Map My Run. Registration and awards are available for male, female, and non-binary participants across overall and age-group categories for the marathon, half marathon, and 10K. First-time marathon and half marathon finishers receive a plaque in addition to their medal. Participants also get a shirt and ankle running socks. A discount is offered to service members and their families.
T&E Care 5K & Family Fun Run
The T&E Care 5K & Family Fun Run is a community running event held at Wilson Farm Park in Wayne, Pennsylvania. It features a 5K race and a shorter family run/walk. The event is organized by T&E Care, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting local individuals and families experiencing immediate financial difficulties, particularly with housing, utilities, and food security.
This marks the organization's inaugural annual race, emphasizing community support alongside the running aspect. The event aims to generate funds for direct assistance, with T&E Care reporting that over 98% of donations are allocated directly to programs, facilitated by an all-volunteer staff and the absence of office overhead. The 5K is open to participants of all ages, while the Family Fun Run/Walk has a reduced fee for those aged 10 and above, and children under 10 can participate in this option at no cost.
Team Allied Services and You All Abilities 5k Run and 2 Mile Walk
The Team Allied Services and You All Abilities 5k Run and 2 Mile Walk takes place on a Saturday morning at 63 Mike Munchak Way in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Participants can choose between a 5K run or a 2-mile walk, both beginning at 9:00 a.m. The entry fee is $25 for the run and $15 for the walk.
The event supports children with disabilities in northeastern and central Pennsylvania, with sponsorship from Aon and Quantum Rehab. Following the 5K and 2-mile walk, an All-Abilities Walk is offered free of charge on the track. During this walk, pediatric and adult patients celebrate rehabilitation milestones with their families, friends, and supporters.
Two Rivers Marathon Race Festival: Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K
The Two Rivers Marathon Race Festival takes place in late March at Lackawaxen Park in Lackawaxen, Pennsylvania. It features a marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K. The marathon and half marathon courses are certified Boston Marathon qualifiers. The shorter races begin later in the morning from the same park area. Participants can pick up their packets the day before the race or on race morning. Parking is available across the street from the finish line at the Fire House.
The course follows an out-and-back route along the Lackawaxen River. Runners ascend gradually on the way to the turnaround point and descend the same amount on the return. The lowest elevation is 617 feet, and the highest is 821 feet five miles later, with a grade of less than 1 percent. Marathon participants complete the loop twice. Mile markers are placed every mile, with road paint, cones, and additional turnaround signs for each distance. Over the past four years, only five runners have missed a turn. The race director’s policy is to double the signage when it already appears adequate.
Radnor Girls Crew Club 5K Run/Walk
The Radnor Girls Crew Club 5K Run/Walk begins and ends at Radnor Senior High School. The main entrance on King of Prussia Road will be closed for race setup. This Saturday morning 5K is open to runners and walkers. Race-morning registration and bib pickup start at 7:15 AM. The event supports student athletes at Radnor Senior High School. Bryn Mawr Racing Co. will professionally time the event, with results available on brynmawrracing.com.
The setup is specific to the school campus. Participants should enter from North Radnor Chester Road near the lacrosse fields. Parking is available in the main lots by the library and main entrance. Check-in will be at the main bus loop above the parking area. Pure Barre of the Main Line will lead a warm-up stretch near the start. Awards maintain the rowing theme, with a trophy for the fastest team "boat," determined by the average time of groups of four or more. Individual overall winners and age-group finishers will also receive recognition. Snacks and drinks will be provided after the race during the awards announcement.
