The Thankful 4... 5K and Fun Run is a Thanksgiving morning race series. Its original four-mile run is based at NorthWood High School in Nappanee, Indiana, starting at 8:00 AM. This flagship event has drawn crowds of nearly 1,000 runners. A Colorado edition also runs at 8:00 AM from Golden High School in Golden, Colorado, attracting local friends and families annually. The series originated as I’m Thankful Four and evolved into a Thanksgiving gathering honoring Kelsey Mikel after her passing in a car accident. All event proceeds support the Kelsey Mikel Memorial Foundation, which grants scholarships to high school students. The foundation has awarded 39 scholarships totaling over $111,000, making the race a holiday run and a fundraiser with a distinct local mission.

This is the second event in RunningLane Events' Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series, with a limit of 400 participants. Run The Rolling Hills Trail Race

The Rolling Hills Trail Race begins near the Campbellsville United Methodist Church pavilion in Campbellsville, Tennessee. This community is located north of Pulaski on Highway 166. It is a yearly trail and grass-surface race held on the last Saturday in April, featuring a 10K, a 5K, and a Kids 1 Mile Run. Race-day registration is available in the morning; the children's race starts first, followed by the 10K and 5K which begin concurrently. The courses traverse the rolling countryside of Giles County, avoiding pavement. The 5K consists of a 1.32-mile out-and-back segment and a 1.78-mile loop. The 10K follows the same route and includes an additional turnaround loop distinct from the finish. The Kids 1 Mile Run is a straightforward out-and-back course. Awards are presented after the children's race and again after the 10K and 5K. The event is structured for local runners, families, and participants seeking a brief yet uneven trail challenge.

Huntsville, pour la course, c'est vraiment varié sans se prendre la tête. Ici, on fait nos sorties Z2 en semaine sur les greenways d'Aldridge Creek, Bradford, Indian Creek, Mill Creek et Hays Farm. John Hunt Park, c'est un peu le cœur de la scène avec sa boucle goudronnée de 7 miles et son parcours de cross-country. Et puis, il y a le 5K gratuit sur Elgie’s Walk Greenway. Les clubs comme We Run Huntsville, Fleet Feet Running Club, Huntsville Pub Run, et Huntsville Track Club, c'est nickel pour trouver des sorties en groupe. La Cotton Row Run, le Monte Sano 15K, les Dizzy Fifties et le Rocket City Marathon Race Weekend, ce sont les courses qui comptent chez nous.

Pour le vélo à Huntsville, tu peux commencer sur du plat si tu veux, mais ça monte vite dès que tu pars vers l'est. On fait nos base miles sur des bouts de la Singing River Trail, puis on va chercher le gravel à Wheeler Wildlife Refuge, Arrowhead Landing, Bankhead National Forest, Desoto State Park et Paintrock. Le Cycle Club organise des sorties route et gravel, et Southern Carnage in Mooresville propose des sorties gravel toutes les semaines à Wheeler Wildlife Refuge. Monte Sano, tu y trouves du gravel et des sentiers roulants sur le haut de la montagne. Pour les montées, c'est Rainbow Mountain, Clift's Cove, Stoneridge, Green Mountain, Wade Mountain, Chapman Mountain et Huntsville Mountain qui te les offrent. Le Racin' the Station Duathlon, c'est l'événement incontournable pour les amateurs de multisport.

D'août à octobre, c'est la meilleure période pour s'entraîner ici, le temps est un peu plus sec et il fait assez chaud pour les longues sorties, les intervalles et les journées trail. L'été, les après-midis sont chauds et humides, autour de 32°C, donc on part tôt, on cherche l'ombre à Monte Sano State Park ou sur la Bradford Greenway, et on fait le plein d'eau. De novembre à mai, c'est la saison plus humide, mais l'hiver reste assez doux pour courir et rouler tranquillement. Les maxis en hiver sont autour de 10°C, et la ville passe souvent aux base miles, aux sorties sur greenway, à l'endurance en gravel et au travail en trail quand l'air est plus frais et que tu peux tenir un bon rythme.
