Lincoln accueille 18 courses de 10K en 2026 dans un rayon de 80 km du centre-ville — dates à venir, séries récurrentes et autres courses à proximité, le tout au même endroit.

Ici, à Lincoln, les coureurs profitent des parcs, des bords de campus et d'un réseau de sentiers qui rend les sorties en Z2 super faciles. Le MoPac Trail s'étend sur presque 27 miles, de l'ouest de Lincoln jusqu'au Wabash Trailhead ; du coup, les base miles, ça passe crème, on n'a jamais l'impression de forcer. Le Rock Island Trail, lui, va du nord au sud et se connecte au Jamaica North Trail, qui démarre vers 25th and Saltillo Road et file vers Robber's Cave. Pour les séances de tempo, Sheridan Boulevard offre environ trois miles réguliers entre South Street et Calvert Street. Fleet Feet Lincoln aide les nouveaux coureurs à s'intégrer. Le Lincoln Track Club et Pink Gorilla Events ancrent le calendrier avec le Lincoln Marathon, le Lincoln Half Marathon, le Good Life Halfsy, le Buffalo Run et le Lincoln Mile.

L'automne est sans doute la meilleure période de l'année pour rouler, et les courses d'octobre sont encore bien animées avec le Woods Park Twilight Running Festival au calendrier. L'été, c'est chaud et humide, avec 41.8 jours où les max atteignent +30°C, alors on décale les intervalles tôt le matin et on garde les longues sorties Z2 sérieuses. Lincoln a atteint +40°C pour la dernière fois le 24 août 2023. L'hiver, ça change le rythme, car les températures négatives s'étendent en moyenne du 7 octobre au 25 avril. La neige, c'est en moyenne 76 cm par saison, et les jours de grosse neige, ça pousse les deux sports vers les sentiers pavés dégagés ou des boucles plus courtes.
