Les gens d'ici, quand ils veulent faire des kilomètres faciles sans se prendre la tête, ils vont courir sur l'Arkansas River Path, à Exploration Place Park, Sedgwick County Park, Sim's Park, et Pawnee Prairie Park. Run 316, c'est le lundi à Sedgwick County Park à 18h30 et le samedi à Naftzger Park à 8h du mat'. Run Wichita, eux, ils te tiennent bien la semaine avec leurs Tuesday Night Track runs, les Thursday Social Runs, et les Saturday Long Runs. She Runs This Town, leur antenne de Wichita, ils ont environ 2 300 membres. Thunder Road, près d'Augusta, c'est un classique ici à Wichita. Les montées, elles sont dans les pentes vallonnées un peu en dehors de la vallée de la rivière. Par exemple, DThng #9, ça te fait 234 m de D+ sur 44.8 km, et Derby Thursday Night Gravel PM#7, c'est 251 m de D+ sur 49.9 km.

De mars à novembre, c'est les meilleurs mois pour rouler à Wichita, et les coureurs, eux aussi, ils en profitent pour faire pas mal de base miles tranquilles pendant cette période. L'été, ça commence frais et humide certains matins, puis ça se réchauffe, avec un peu moins d'humidité, et si t'as de la chance, une petite brise en fin de journée. Boats & Bikes loue des trucs de mai à octobre, donc l'Arkansas River Path et les sorties en centre-ville, c'est facile de s'y mettre. L'hiver, ça change plus le rythme que l'état d'esprit. Bicycle Pedaler passe sur un Zwift Ride tous les lundis soirs de novembre à mars à 18h, et les coureurs, eux, continuent avec les track nights, social runs, et long runs quand les conditions le permettent.
