Informazioni su questa gara
The 32 km race ascends from Akagi Rinkan Gakuen at approximately 800 m to Mt. Funagahana, reaching 1,466 m, the highest point in Showa Village. This trail event takes place in Akagi Kogen, Showa Village, Gunma Prefecture, and is the third event in the Tokyo Trail Run Series. Participants can select either a 32 km advanced division or a 20 km middle-level division. The shorter course bypasses steep ascents, making it suitable for novice trail runners. The event location is on the mid-slopes of Mt. Akagi, where the elevation provides cooler temperatures compared to summer races at lower altitudes.
The advanced division features a revised loop with varied terrain. The 20 km division is more akin to a cross-country course, without significant ascents or descents. The running surface includes a pumice layer, resulting in a soft texture that drains effectively after rainfall. Organizers state that all routes are free of hazardous sections, and children from elementary and junior high schools may participate with a parent. The race limits entries to 600 runners and requires gloves and a minimum of 1,000 ml of water. The event maintains a local character through offerings such as fresh vegetables as a participation gift, watermelon at the aid station, post-race bathing facilities, and shaved ice available after the finish. Series champions receive complimentary entry to subsequent series races.
