The Bornsdorf-Triathlon is a local Brandenburg triathlon held at the NEG Waldbad Bornsdorf in Heideblick-Bornsdorf. The swim, transitions, and finish are all located at the forest pool. Organized in August by Luckauer Läuferbund e.V., it provides multiple race options: an Olympic distance (1.5 km swim, 42-44 km bike, 10 km run), a Sprint distance (0.75 km swim, 22-23 km bike, 5 km run), a Sprint relay on the shorter course, and a Schnupper taster race (0.3 km swim, 10.9 km bike, 2.5 km run).
The swim takes place as a loop within the Waldbad, described as a 750 m circuit. Cyclists then navigate a road loop, requiring helmets and adherence to traffic laws. The run consists of a 2.5 km loop around the lake, meaning longer races involve repeating sections close to the venue. The event maintains a local atmosphere with a 244-participant limit, viewed by regulars as a sporting family gathering. Chief organizer Jörg Rackwitz traditionally hosts the event and appears to know many participants personally, aligning with an event that attracts both newcomers and long-time attendees from its origins over thirty years ago.
