Trail des Requins, nicknamed “Les Jaws du Trail,” is a January trail race held in Grand-Couronne, Seine-Maritime, Normandy. This nature and forest event offers two distances: a 10 km route named “Le Classique” and a 20 km route that covers the same course twice. The last edition saw over 200 participants, giving it the feel of a community winter trail gathering rather than a large-scale event.
The 10 km begins with a brief lap around the stadium before an 800 m climb with 100 m of elevation gain. Following this are smaller hills, a more open section, a singletrack path through the Forêt de la Londe-Rouvray, a final ascent, then a descent and a flat finish. The 20 km course doubles this effort, accumulating approximately 450 m of climbing. The forest is also recognized for its biodiversity and historical remnants. Rouen is situated nearby, and a traditional Norman recovery meal involves cider and roasted camembert.
